Lasers that work with BurnBadger
BurnBadger works with GRBL diode lasers. Here are the ones checked so far, and how to add yours: about 10 minutes and a scrap of plywood. Every laser added makes BurnBadger better for everyone who owns one.
Checked so far
Should work, not checked yet
These run GRBL firmware, the same kind BurnBadger talks to, according to their makers. Got one? Add it and be one of the first.
Something else? Most GRBL diode lasers should work too (Creality Falcon, Two Trees, Longer, Comgrow and others): if LightBurn or LaserGRBL talks to it as a “GRBL” laser, BurnBadger should as well. Lasers that only work with their maker’s own app or firmware (xTool, Glowforge, LaserPecker) won’t work with BurnBadger.
Add your laser
- 1
- 2
Open “Add my laser”
In the Laser menu, choose My Laser, then Add my laser. BurnBadger reads your laser’s own settings (its bed size, power range and so on). The laser stays off.
- 3
Burn the test card
Put a scrap of plywood on the bed. BurnBadger loads its test card: frame it, burn it, then measure two lines with a ruler. Safety glasses on.
- 4
Snap a photo and send
Add a photo of the burned card. On a computer without photos? BurnBadger gives you a short code to send it from your phone instead.
We check every report by hand, usually within a few days. When your laser is added it shows up in BurnBadger’s list, and if you’re one of the first 3 for that laser, your free Pro unlocks in the app by itself.
On iPhone, Android, or got a rotary?
“Add my laser” is in the Windows and Mac apps first. If you’d rather test on your phone, or you have a rotary for cups and tumblers (coming next), tell us your laser and we’ll email you when there’s something for you to test.
The fine print
- One free license per person. It goes to the first 3 reports we approve for each laser model, and needs a clear photo of the test card burned on your laser.
- The report has your laser’s settings, its make and model, which app you used, and the name and email you choose to add. We show your name on this page only if you tick the box.
- Always wear the safety glasses made for your laser, burn somewhere with airflow, and stay with the laser while it’s on.
